Samsung Pay App Shows Atleast One Galaxy S10 model Will Get In-Display Fingerprint Scanner

According to XDA Developers Samsung has been working behind the scenes and have found evidence for which primary camera sensor will be used in Samsung’s smartphone with a foldable display. Along with this they also have got hands on the size and animations used for the Galaxy S10 series display cutouts, Bright Night camera mode for Galaxy S10 which is present as an in- display fingerprint scanner on at least one of the models.

There have been rumours related to the in-display fingerprint scanner being added by Samsung in with few of its models like the Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S9 and more recently with the Galaxy Note 9. But it seems likely it will see the days light with the latest Galaxy S10.

The latest Samsung Pay app shows two precise references to an in-display fingerprint scanner and another reference directly mentions the Galaxy S10’s code-name according to XDA Developers.

The below-mentioned screenshots will explain to you about it in details. Here in the first screenshot is the SimpleAuthBottomView class and the second screenshot is from the OnlinePayMainBaseFragment class. These images make it clear that Samsung Pay app is checking if the device has an in-display fingerprint scanner, and if so, it’ll shift the payment flow window at the bottom a bit higher up to make more room.samsung pay app

There is one more screenshot provided which shows the payment flow in the Samsung Pay App. Here you can see the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 which does not have an in-display fingerprint scanner. Suggesting if the in-display fingerprint scanner was present there would be enough room at the bottom for the scanner icon. This is the reason behind Samsung making the bottom layout larger for the app running on “Beyond” – which happens to be the codename for the Galaxy S10 series.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 series will be announced in less than a month from now. Insider news suggests the Samsung Galaxy S10E will have a side mounted fingerprint scanner, this model happens to be the cheapest variant of Galaxy S10.
