SRINAGAR: Pakistani Troops on Monday violated the ceasefire in Uri Sector of Jammu and Kashmir by opening fire at Indian posts, defence sources said.
The sources said the Pakistani troops fired towards Indian positions first in the afternoon, which was retaliated by the Indian Army.
After a gap of nearly six hours, the Pakistani troops began fresh firing that lasted nearly 30 minutes, the sources said, adding the firing had stopped now.
There was no damage reported in the firing so far, the sources said.
Earlier in the day, Indian Army noticed some suspicious movement along the LoC in Uri sector and challenged the intruders. The alert jawans opened speculative firing, forcing the intruders to retreat, an army official said.
