Ajmer: State Congress president Sachin Pilot started campaign in Ajmer from Thursday for the by-elections expected to be announced in the coming days. He made a whirlwind tour of villages in Rupangarh block and asked people to extend support to Congress and promised them to provide good governance.
“This by-election will not bring change in central government but will bring down their (ruling BJP) arrogance,” Pilot said.
There was a heavy crowd gathered to see Pilot as he visited Nosal, Kotari, Panner and Rupangarh. “We will contest this election not by dividing society on caste but on development issue,” added Pilot.
He asked villagers to support him and promised them development without discrimination. He trained guns on Raje and said her government only changed names of the programmes that Congress had started.
The highlight of Pilot’s canvassing was that he met people directly and also had lunch with them at the place of sarpanch of Nasol, Ranjeet Singh. Even children and women came out to meet the Congress leader.
Pilot said that from Ajmer he will go to Alwar and then to Mandal. “All these three seats are with BJP and people will give the message that Rajasthan is prepared to throw BJP out that came to power on false promises.”
What was important this time about Pilot was that he was with every local leader and listening to their suggestions. While addressing a meeting in Kotari, Pilot said, “I have come here as part of the society and cannot tolerate community division.”
A Congress source said that in coming days, the campaigning will be at the grass-roots level to involve the common man. Source : timesofindia
