*PM Narendra Modi casted his vote at booth number 115 in Sabarmati’s Ranip locality. Patidar leader Hardik Patel, finance minister Arun Jaitley, BJP president Amit Shah, former Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel, Congress state chief Bharatsinh Solanki and Deputy CM Nitin Patel were the others to register their votes in the second phase of the elections.
*In phase one of the polls, voting was conducted on Saturday for 89 seats in Saurashtra and south Gujarat with 68% turnout.
*Last month, Himachal Pradesh concluded voting on November 9 and recorded its highest turnout at 74 percent.
*The results for both the state assemblies will be announced on December 18.
*After the conclusion of the second phase of voting by Wednesday evening, exit polls will start predicting the winners for both the state assemblies.
