Hindu bodies plan rally in support of Shambu

Udaipur: Tension seems to be brewing as several self-proclaimed Hindu organizations are gearing up to extend support to Rajsamand hate killer Shambulal Raigar and his family. Help, both financially and morally, has started pouring in for the family. Members of one such organization have announced to hold a rally in Rajsamand on December 14. Organizations are appealing to members across several cities to raise money to help Shambu’s family to meet legal expenses that would incur once the trial begins.

Updesh Rana Thakur, rashtriya pracharak of Vishwa Sanatan Sangh too will reportedly hold a rally in support of the killer.

“Kamar mein pistol, mooncho pe taanv, shahar mein suraksha badha do kyuki Updesh Rana ka khauff ho gaya hai,” Kanhayalal Bagra, one of his supporters from Bagra Yuva Rashtriya Manch, claimed on Social Media.

Rana who likes to refer to himself as ‘Jihadiyon ka baap’ has beeng iving live updates of police activities in Rajsamand in connection to Shambulal’s case. On Tuesday, he asked his supporters not to deposit money in the account of Shambulal’s wife’s account as the police had seized the family’s bank documents.

Rajsamand administration claimed to have no information nor was any permission sought to hold rally or meeting by any organization.

To crack down on hate speeches and messages in support of the killer going around the social media, Rajsamand police has also issued an advisory warning legal consequences for those who attempt to breach law and order situation.

“We don’t have any information of any person or group holding rally, road show or meeting in Rajsamand, neither will we permit anything that may disturb the harmony in the area. Presently, the situation is completely under control and police have put the social media under surveillance. Provocative messages are being scanned and anti-social elements are being screened,” Rajsamand collector P C Berwal told TOI.

On Monday, Mavli police arrested Pintu Joshi (37) and Kailash Dangi (22) for posting objectionable content on social media. One more person was arrested from Rajsamand, sources claimed.
