The protesters harped on the allegations made by the family that Chetan murdered, and demanded the Police register a murder case. “The police have not acted on our complaint, we had handed over a report to them two weeks ago, and yet the police have not registered the FIR,” said Ram Chanra Saini, a protester.
Meanwhile, the FSL is likely to submit its report on the hand-writing to elaborate if the scribblings on the walls of the rampart has indeed been written by Saini. The police had earlier showed a CCTV grab in which Saini could be seen walking towards the fort, however, the cops were not able to describe as to where Saini had hidden the rope which could not be seen on the CCTV. “He had accumulated debts to the tune of several lakhs, and we suspect it was one of the reasons that drove him to take the extreme step,” said a police official, adding that FSL report will help them set the course of their investigation.
“As of now we think it is a case of suicide, but FSL has to confirm if the scribblings were indeed written by him to present his death as murder or not,” the official informed TOI.
