Jaipur: Private Rbse Schools have accused the state government of discriminating against their students by giving laptops, bicycles, cash awards and even foreign scholarships only to government School students.

They have alleged that the state does not reward any private school student, which has come as a huge disappointment. Swayamsewi Shikshan Sanstha, a body of private RBSE schools in Rajasthan, has demanded the state government to include private schools in most of their schemes.

“The state scheme provides laptops to meritorious students—10,000 students each in classes X and XII as well as for toppers of all 22,000 upper primary government schools in the state. And though many private school students score higher than Government School Students, they do not qualify for any rewards,” said Kishan Mittal of the Sanstha.

The organization also pointed to financial rewards granted by the states for students to pursue education. They said that most of the private RBSE schools have students coming from financially poor backgrounds.

They study in private schools due to poor education imparted in government schools. Similarly, the state provides a fixed Deposit of Rs 3,000 to girl student enrolled in Class IX.

“The FD of the beneficiary matures after they clear Class XII which motivates them to study in a government school. This scheme should be extended to girls enrolled in private schools too so that they don’t drop out before Class XII,” said Mittal.

The Sanstha also questioned the alleged discrimination in the bicycle scheme which is restricted only to government school students.

Meanwhile, private CBSE schools have also demanded that NCERT-based textbooks should be revoked in RBSE schools. Since the textbooks have been revised, these schools have claimed that the new textbooks are far removed from the NCERT curriculum, affecting the efficiency and learning levels of students.
