Docs meet health min over demands

Jaipur: All Rajasthan In Service Doctors Association (ARISDA) office-bearers met health minister Kalicharan Saraf to discuss on their pending 33 demands on Saturday evening.

After attending the meeting with the Health Department Officials, till late in the evening, the doctors were yet to take a decision on their call for cancelling their mass resignation, which they have already announced recently, if their demands are not fulfilled.

“In the meeting, the Health Department officials provided us all the details about the progress in each demand. For fulfilling some demands, the health department had constituted committees, but there was not a single representative from ARISDA. Now, they have included one representative in each committee,” said Dr Rakesh Heerawat, spokesperson, ARISDA.

Dr Heerawat said that they are analysing what action government has taken on each of their demand. “Our meeting will continue till late in the night to complete the analysis. Only after complete analysis, we will be able to make a call on our mass resignations,” he said.

The agitating doctors said that the demands which do not require any funds should be immediately accepted like the demand of cancellation of posting of an RAS official on the post of assistant director (gazetted). The post was earlier held by a doctor, now ARIDSA is demanding that a doctor should hold the post.
