Unions reject Sawant panel, to chalk out future strategy

Jaipur: The various state government employees unions have rejected the DC Sawant committee which the government asked again on Friday to look into anomalies in the employees’ grade pay and other pay anomalies raised by the employees unions.

Unions said they will not settle for anything less than pay parity with Central government employees’ as agreed by the state government earlier with the unions.

The various state government employees unions under the banner of Akhil Rajasthan Rajya Karmachari Samyukt Sangarsh Samiti said they will convene a meeting of all employees’ union leaders on Sunday to chalk out the action plan.

Anudhan Singh Kavya, president of the Akhil Rajasthan Rajya Karmachari Mahasangh, who has been made the convener of the Samyukt Sangarsh Samiti while addressing the media on Saturday, said “the employees unions reject the Sawant committee.” He said “the same committee which was formed in February this year to fine- tune the pay structure after seven months have come out with this faulty pay structure. The same panel has been again asked to look in the anomalies. We have no faith in this committee,” he said.

“The committee is not above the pay commission. The state government had to implement the pay commission recommendations as implemented by the Centre for the central government employees,” he demanded. He said about 1.25 lakh employees had to face a pay cut of about Rs 5000 per month as per the pay commission notification issued by the state government.

He said the pay revision has been made effective from October this year instead of January 2016. Because of this decision about 40,000 employees who had retired between January 2016 and Oct 2017 would not get any benefits of the pay revision.

Speaking on the occasion Akhil Rajasthan Rajya Karmachari Samyukt Mahasangh(United) state president Gajendra Singh Rathore said the state government has been following anti employees policy. He said the government is misleading the employees by forming one committee after another. He said the DC Sawant committee instead of resolving the pay anomalies has created more sub category in the 2400, 2800 and 4800 grade pay and did a major disservice to the employees.

Rajasthan secretariat employees’ union president Abhimanyu Sharma Rajasthan Accountants Association president Prahlad Singh Shekawat, Rajasthan Judicial employees’ union general secretary BadrilalChaudhary was among the union leaders present on the occasion.
