IFS officer put on ‘awaiting posting order’

Jaipur: Bharat Taimni, an IFS Officer who approached the Indian Forest Service Association (IFSA) complaining of ‘humiliation and harassment’, has been put under awaiting posting order (APO) on Friday.

Taimni was in the news after he had raised the ‘irregularity’ over his posting as secretary to the Rajasthan state medicinal plants board (RSMPB), which comes under the ayurveda department of the government.

While the incumbent to the post of principal secretary, Dr R Venkateswaran, belonged to the 1990 IAS batch, he belonged to the 1987 batch of the IFS in the same pay scale.

He pointed out that this was against the Supreme Court (SC) order and made him a subordinate to his junior, he said, alleging that this was done deliberately.

In his complaint, dated September 20, to the secretary general of the IFSA, he had complained that the department of personnel in Rajasthan did not consider and respect IFS officers and their dignity.

He said he had submitted two representations to the chief secretary. But the government has till now done nothing to rectify the orders. “I am being humiliated and tortured,” he had written.

BOX: IPS officers Transferred

The government transferred three IPS officers on Friday. Sudhir Chaudhary, Assistant Police Superintendent, Bharatpur, has been transferred in the same capacity to Gangrar Chittorgarh, while Deepak Yadav, assistant police superintendent, Udaipur, has been transferred to Deedwana, Nagaur. Ram Murti Joshi, additional police commissioner, Ajmer, has been transferred as principal, police training school, Kishangarh, Ajmer.
