Paintings to brighten up lives of blind!

Mount ABU: Art connoisseurs and collectors will be able to savour and even take home the beauty of Mount Abu on canvass as ‘Lollapalooza’ the week-long exhibition-cum-sale of paintings by man from mountains Arun Sharman kicks off at the Hutheesing Visual Arts centre beginning August 15.

Fifty of the 75 canvasses that are curated by Ruchi Doctor are entirely for charity, the proceeds of which will go to the National Association for Blind (NAB) in the hill town. Sharman has been associated with the NAB PNM, the rehabilitation centre for the blind for several years now. Proceeds of his earlier painting exhibitions have also gone to the organization.

The Matisse of Mount Abu, Sharman brings on canvasses the beauty of Abode of Hills from 63 BC. from Chanadravati, to the present Lollapalooza! He also brings the beauty of 25 most beautiful birds of Mount Abu, from the total of 146 birds as noted well back in 1846 by EA Butler and glorified by very own ornithologist Dr Salim Ali.

It was in 2012 December that Umang Hutheesingh’s munificence had gifted an opportunity, to an entirely unknown brush, now lovingly called the Matisse of Mount Abu. This opened flood gates for the brush from Mount Abu to bring the beauty of Abu on canvases for the entire world to relish. Once again, Hutheesing center has given space for Abu to be showcased for the entire world the canvasses in one of the largest solo display of beauty of Mount Abu in the world of art.

Backstage boys providing all other resources, right form canvases to paints to brushes to inspiration, to promote art in Mount Abu are Rajesh Lalwani and Tanay Agarwal. It is they, who got the ball rolling for fine art for charity in Mount Abu, six years back, and since then they have not looked back to shower their munificence on Sharman. The duo have made Abu fine art destination, way back in 2006, since then many fine art work shops have been held at Mount Abu.

Here Sharman is fully revealed, not only as a painter of scenes of primal beauty, but as one whose art rests on a foundation of extraordinary visual intelligence and rigorous discipline. The oeuvre is his largest and most evenly balanced representation of his work ever to be assembled.
