Bolstering organisation will make Raj BJP invincible: Shah

Jaipur: Rajasthan unit of BJP would soon be unbeatable, claimed BJP national president Amit Shah on Saturday.

Shah, while addressing the media at the state BJP headquarters on the second day of his three-day visit, said that the state unit of the party would grow into an unbeatable political party by the ongoing process of strengthening of the organisation. “In terms of an organisation, the state BJP will be invincible. In the next four months, the no political party would be able to come close to the performance of BJP in Rajasthan, forget beating it,” said Shah.

When asked about the frequent speculations on the change in state leadership, Shah said that Vasundhara Raje was doing a good job. “Let people try to create issues out of non-issues. Vasundhara Raje is doing a good job in the state,” he emphasised.

To a query related to loans of farmers being waived off, Shah said that union finance minister Arun Jaitley has already clearly stated that the states need to decide themselves. “It is the state government’s decision,” he added.

In his address to the media, Shah listed out the achievements of the Narendra Modi government including demonetisation and surgical strike; and applauded the flagship programmes and performance of the Raje government in the state. Speaking on the Ram Temple issue, he said that the party’s stand on it was always clear. “It is even mentioned in the manifestos of the last four general polls. The temple should be constructed but in a legal manner and through mutual dialogue,” he said.

When asked about the assembly elections in Gujarat, he asserted, ”BJP will win on more than 150 seats of the 182 in Gujarat.”

While talking about GST, he said that the BJP had never protested or objected to GST but on how it was being implemented. “ BJP was never against GST implementation by UPA-led government but it was against the way it was being implemented,” he said and added that the states were demanding that losses incurred by them should be fully compensated by the centre, which was accepted by the BJP. “This won us the support of the states. While the opposition did have some reservations, the general public have accepted and welcomed GST,” he claimed. Speaking on the search operation of 39 missing Indians in Iraq’s Mosul, he said, “the government is not misleading anybody. The search is on.”

He talked about all-part meets to deal issues like excluding creamy layer among SCs/STs from reservation benefits and holding Lok Sabha and assembly polls simultaneously. He also touched upon several issues including the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and GST.
