Ayodhya case: Important witness dies; SC judgment likely today

Ayodhya: An important witness in the Babri Masjid demolition case died in Ayodhya after suffering a heart attack.

Mohammad Aslam Ansari suffered a heart attack on Monday at his residence in Ayodhya, his family members said.

Qasim, a relative, alleged that Ansari died due to insufficient medical facilities in the government hospital.

Ansari was the nephew of late Hashim Ansari who was the oldest litigant in the case.

SC order on Ayodhya issue likely today:

Supreme Court is likely to pronounce its judgment on Ram Janmbhumi issue on Friday. The issue, which is long pending in the SC, was requested to be heard every day by senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy.

SC asked parties to resolve matter with dialogue:

The SC in its last hearing had asked various parties to sit together and resolve the issue amicably.  The move was thereafter welcomed by various parties including BJP, Congress and even by Muslim Groups.

Swamy urges Muslim groups:

A day after SC hearing on the matter, Swamy urged the Muslim groups to accept his proposal of forming Ram temple on the disputed land, and constructing a mosque on the other side of the river Saryu. Swamy said, “Muslim should accept my proposal for a masjid across Saryu. Or else in 2018 on getting the RS majority we will enact a law to build temple”.
