Ghazipur : After 21 years, the Uttar Pradesh police have lodged the 61st FIR against incarcerated mafia don Mukhtar Ansari. Another murder complaint has been filed against Ansari in connection with the death of Usri Chatti in the Muhammadabad Kotwali region of Ghazipur district in 2001.
According to police sources, action has been taken in response to Shailendra Rai’s complaint, the father of the dead Manoj Rai. The number of cases filed against Mukhtar has now risen to 61 as a result of this FIR. The picture of the Usri Chatti murder case changed the moment the case was lodged on January 20th. Mukhtar had already charged and filed a FIR against Brajesh Singh and Tribhavan Singh for the murder of Manoj Rai.
In his police complaint, Shailendra Kumar Rai, a native of Sagar Rajpur in Bihar’s Buxar district, stated that his contractor son Manoj Rai travelled with Surendra Sharma (Mukhtar’s driver), Shahid, Gaus Moinuddin, and Kamal on the evening of July 14, 200.
On the evening of July 15, 2001, information about Manoj’s death was received. Manoj used to conduct contract work for Mukhtar, but a schism developed between the two over several tenders. Shailendra Rai, the dead contractor’s father, recently met with ADG Prashant Kumar and requested him to file a FIR against Mukhtar.
Notably, Mukhtar Ansari, the then-MLA, was on his way to Mau on July 15, 2001.
