Ward number 7 of Jammu’s Narwal area was rocked by two blasts that took place at a distance of 50 meters in 16 minutes on Saturday. Nine people were injured in these blasts that happened one after the other. Security Forces suspect that IEDs have been used by suspected terrorists in both the blasts.

The first blast took place in an old Bolero and then the second blast took place 50 meters away in another vehicle parked at Transport Nagar Junkyard. All the people injured in these blasts have been admitted to GMC Jammu. The condition of all the injured is said to be stable.

Police, army and CRPF officials had reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. A search operation was started by sealing the entire area. The NIA team on Sunday investigated the entire area and interrogated some people. A special team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police is also probing the matter.

The blasts have been carried out at a time when Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra is about to reach Jammu on January 23 and tight security arrangements have been made in the city in view of the Republic Day. Security forces are also on high alert.
