TTP Threat Update: Will target Pak PM, other leaders

Peshawar : The terrorist organisation Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has openly threatened to target the top leaders of the Government of Pakistan. The terrorist organisation said that if the attack on it does not stop, they will attack the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister.

TTP says that if the government continues to take strict action against them, they will attack big leaders. However, the militant outfit insisted that it has not scrapped the Ceasefire Agreement with the government.

The TTP has said that their group is still open to a ceasefire agreement with the Pakistan government.

TTP, in November last year, withdrew the indefinite ceasefire with the Pak government after tensions in June 2022 and ordered its terrorists to attack security forces.

The terror group’s chief, Noor Wali Mehsud, said they held talks with Pakistan under the mediation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. He is still ready for a ceasefire agreement. Mehsud’s change of stand comes amid reports that the TTP in Pakistan has sought guidance from religious scholars.

In a video message, Mehsud said that his organisation is open to the guidance of religious scholars of Pakistan if the direction of jihad is wrong. He asked to explain that the Pakistan Police on Saturday arrested five TTP terrorists during intelligence-based operations in the country’s Punjab province.

Meanwhile, in Wana, the headquarters of South Waziristan tribal district, more than 5,000 tribals on Friday took out a rally against growing unrest, terrorism and kidnapping in their areas. The protest came amid rising terrorists attacks in the country.
