Retired Naval officer script intriguing tales of Rajputana history

‘Book Presentation ceremony in Udaipur on March 11

Udaipur : Author Commander Pratap Singh Mehta is all set to present his historic Rajput memoir – Rajputana Chroniclesthat spans the journey of the evolution of the Rajputana Empire. The retired officer from the Indian Navy took upon himself to put together exciting pieces of Rajputana‘s history, presented in an interesting visual format, to enhance each one’s quest to find their roots. The unveiling ceremony would be held on March 11 at the City Palace by Arvind Singh Mewar.

Often portrayed as a land of uncritical religiosity, camels and sand, Commander Mehta brings out Rajasthan’s long tradition of scepticism, doubt and critical reasoning including a considerable religious tolerance. Each story is logically broken down in anecdotal format with relevant paintings and pictures. A wide range ofRajputana’s valiant, philosophic and cultural contributions by the lesser-known nobles of the Bachhawat clan is comprehensively covered.

” the commander says. Mehta’s work will enable audiences keen to know how Kingdoms of the past succeeded and sustained themselves for centuries. Mehta, a veteran of Indian Navy and the 1971 Indo-Pak war, has been a keen observer of the history of his ancestors, who were nobles. He has the back door storiesabout people who dominated the affairs of the states back in the day and has collated it all with his extensive research and anecdotes to put together and present this masterpiece.
