Television units had always been the same until the world was introduced to the LED/LCD ones which were slim and sleek. Lately, the manufacturers have been experimenting with the color and finish but the experiments just ended there. Samsung’s Serif TV, on the other hand, has been designed by French Designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. The designer duo has indeed done a great job of transforming the TV into a piece of art. Something that would easily blend in with the other furniture.

Samsung Serif TV was unveiled last year and is up for preorders in the US. Those desiring to purchase this new piece of art-electronic combo need to head over to the Museum of Modern Art website and be ready to shell down $1,499. Now moving on to the actual specifications, the Serif line-up is made up of 40-Inch Uhd Variant, 32-inch FHD and the regular HD variant in 24-inch. However, as of now Samsung has decided to launch only the 40-inch UHD in the United States.

The entire design philosophy hinges on the frame of the TV which is made up of two “I” sections and an easel-like stand. It is easy to mistake Samsung Serif for a piece of a painting mounted on a Canvas and this imparts an upmarket feel and look.

The 40-inch Uhd Variant will retail in blue and white color. The television will also come with three HDMI ports and can also be used as a standalone Bluetooth speaker. Samsung Serif also features a curtain mode which will let viewers access useful info including time, apps, and photo galleries. The audio system is a Dolby Digital Plus with DTS Premium Sound 5.1 Decoding and an 802.11 built-in Wi-Fi.
