Xiaomi has launched a new pair of earphones in its homeland to mark the auspicious 12/12 calendar date. The Chinese OEM is calling it as the Mi Noise Cancelling Headphones. It’s an improved version of the first generation Mi Noise Cancelling headphones, that was launched last year.
Due to 1More’s design expertise and Xiaomi’s competitive pricing, Mi earphones has made a name for itself in the consumer earphone market. The new Mi Noise Cancelling headphones sit at the top of the company’s lineup. It features a moving coil clubbed with acoustic architecture to cater a rich and delicate sound. Xiaomi claims that this architecture helps to maintain sound quality even while canceling surrounding noise.
The shiny new earphones are made out of 6-series aluminum alloy. Xiaomi’s attention to detail can be seen from the fact, that even the metal clips of the headphones are made out of the same material. Design-wise, the new Mi earphones appear similar to one we have seen from Xiaomi in the past.
In an interesting addition, the Mi Noise Cancelling headphones come with a built-in 55mAh battery that can be charged using a micro USB port. Xiaomi reveals that it takes just two hours to recharge the battery, which then deliver up to 12 hours of continuous usage.
The Xiaomi Noise Cancelling headphones come with Japanese Hi-Res Audio standard certification. Additionally, they are capable of restoring up to CD level sound quality. The control hub of the headphone bears the volume controls and a two-speed noise reduction switch. This switch supports up to 1500Hz broadband noise reduction and 2odB maximum noise suppression. Therefore, you can freely roam around using the headphones in busy road and railway stations, without compromising on your listening experience.
The all-new headphones from Xiaomi are priced at 299 Yuan (Rs 2,900/$45 approx.) It will go on sale starting today midnight on the company’s official Chinese store. Xiaomi is unlikely to bring the headphones to its other international markets anytime soon.
