The latest Pentium and the Celeron lineup is based on the Gemini Lake architecture. The new processors are available in several variants which are tailor-made to suit different applications. The processors are optimized for laptops, 2-in-1s, all-in-one PC and also desktops. As per the company, the updated processors will offer 58% boost in performance and productivity applications as opposed to its predecessor.

The Intel Pentium and the Celeron are built on the 14nm process and feature 6 lanes of PCie 2.0 connectivity. On the connectivity front, the chipsets will support 2×2 802.11AC network chips operating at 160MHz channels. Also, the 10W Pentium Silver J5005 is a quad-core CPU with a clock speed of up to 2.8GHz and is touted to offer a higher boost. Needless to say, the Silver lineup balances affordability and performance.

The Pentium Silver N5000 is a mobile processor that will mostly cater to the laptops. The Pentium Silver N5000 comes with a quad-core CPU and a clock speed of up to 2.7GHz. The Graphics department is managed by the Intel UHD Graphics 205. Most of the 2-in-1’s and hybrid laptops need ample processing prowess along with good battery life. The Intel Celeron N4100 and the N4000 offers a clock speed of up to 2.4GHz and comes with integrated graphics. Both the chipsets offer Gigabit WiFi and are rated to offer 10 hours of HD video playback when backed by a 35WHr battery.
