HP has introduced the Omen gaming hardware in India early this year. Now the company has announced a refreshed 2017 edition Omen 15 and 17 for the Indian market. The new laptops come equipped with Nvidia 10 Series GTX graphics card and also offer a single-access panel for the RAM and Storage upgrade/service.

The HP Omen 15 and the Omen 17 both look reminiscent of their predecessor and not much is changed design wise. However, being a gaming laptop HP has upgraded the hardware with the latest generation Intel CPU’s and the laptops now support higher frame rates on the AAA games. That apart HP has also unveiled two new Omen accessories, Omen by HP mouse and Omen by HP Headset 800.

HP Omen 15

The HP Omen may not be exactly in the league of Alienware or Razer blade. The HP Omen, however, makes it up by being a much better-looking laptop and also scores some brownie point on the affordability scale. The latest Intel i7 processor is designated with the task of driving the 4K screen. That apart the 4K display will naturally require more power and this is expected to take a toll on the battery life. The Omen 2017 is offered with RAM options of up to 16GB DDR4 and the 6GB Nvidia Geforce Gtx 1060 is expected to handle high frame rates in a better way.

On the storage front, the laptop offers a 256GB SSD with an option of up to 2TB HDD. The starting price for the Omen 15 in India is Rs 80,990.

HP Omen 17

The HP Omen 17 comes equipped with a 17-inch 4K Display. On the graphics front, the laptop offers Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 as opposed to the GTX 1060 in the HP Omen 15. The refreshed Omen lineup also offers VR and G-Sync configurations for better gaming prowess in a VR setup. HP claims to have fine-tuned the Omen Control and have also added additional options for better customisation. The refreshed Omen laptops also come with a dragon red color backlit keyboard with special emphasis on the WASD buttons.

The HP Omen 17 starts at Rs 159,990 in India while the Omen 600 Mouse and the Omen 800 headsets are priced at Rs 4,999 and Rs 6,999 respectively. Moreover, HP is also bundling a free Omen Gaming Backpack with Omen notebook.
