Samsung’s new ISOCELL Lineup for 2017 Includes Dual-Camera Sensors

Samsung has showcased its upcoming Dual camera system at the ongoing MWC 2017 at Shanghai. The dual camera system will employ Samsung’s very own Isocell technology and will mostly end up on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Samsung is working on their dual camera setup along with the new Isocell lineup, and in all likelihood, Samsung might also come up with mid-range smartphones sporting Dual-Camera modules.

Samsung is apparently working on a dual setup camera consisting of an RGB sensor along with a monochromatic sensor. Both the sensors are 13-Megapixel and offer f/2.0 aperture. The dual camera setup is expected to allow more light, and thus the image will be well lit even in low-light conditions. However, that being said Samsung is late to the party as most of the smartphone manufacturers including Apple have already implemented their dual lens modules on their smartphones.

The Isocell works by killing the crosstalk between each pixel. As we already know the images consist of tiny pixels and the crosstalk is when the color in each pixel leaks to the adjoining ones. Isocell can further be optimized for four segments including, Bright for clear and well-lit images, fast to capture objects in motion and finally the Dual mode in which both the sensors are used. It’s worth mentioning that the recent set of Galaxy Note 8 renders come with a dual lens setup and perhaps this is the same camera unit that Samsung is prepping for its future lineup.

That being said, it’s still not clear whether or not the dual camera will feature in the Galaxy Note 8 but rest assured that Samsung will soon introduce the dual lens since its all about matching up with its competitors. I for once have observed that Samsung’s camera units are still top notch, be it the one on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge that I used to own or the latest Galaxy S8.
