Coolpad has now launched a new smartphone in India in the form of its Note 5 Lite. The latest smartphone from the company is a compact version of the original Coolpad Note 5 that was introduced late last year.

Coolpad Note 5 Lite was showcased by the Chinese OEM at CES this year. With that said, it’s worth noting that the smartphone unveiled at the CES 2017 came with a different name – Coolpad Conjr.

As you can already guess from its name, the Coolpad Note 5 Lite has a much smaller footprint as compared to its 5.5-inch FHD display touting Note 5 sibling. In fact, it comes with a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display that’s protected by a 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood, the Coolpad Note 5 Lite is powered by a 1GHz Quad Core Mediatek 6735CP processor with Mali T720 GPU. This is backed with 3GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. That aside, there’s room for memory expansion via MicroSD card slot.

Coming to the cameras, the Coolpad Note 5 Lite sports a 13MP f/2.2 rear camera with Led Flash. Besides, it has an 8MP front facing shooter for selfies. It’s worth noting that this front camera too comes equipped with a LED flash.

The budget smartphone from Coolpad also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Underneath the all metal unibody shell, the Coolpad Note 5 Lite packs a 2,500mAH battery. This will possibly last you through a day of heavy to moderate use. As for the ROM, the smartphone runs on a baked version of Android Marshmallow 6.0 with Cool UI 8.0 on top.

The Coolpad Note 5 Lite comes with a Hybrid Dual SIM slot and supports 4G VoLTE.  Just like other devices from Coolpad, the Note 5 Lite will go on sale via Amazon on March 21 at a price of Rs 8,199. The smartphone will be available in Gold and Grey color variants.
