After successfully reigning over the online smartphone market, Xiaomi is extending its presence in the Offline retail space. The China-based company has announced that it will be making its current budget flagship, Redmi Note 4 available in the offline Indian stores at a price of Rs 11,499, Rs 1,500 more than its online counterpart.
The Redmi Note 4 will be available for pre-order between 16 – 21 March in Northern cities including Delhi, Jaipur and Chandigarh, and 14 – 17 March at large format retailers (LFRs) across Southern areas. Sales for the same commence from this month’s 22nd for the former sector and 18th in the latter’s case.
Xiaomi is initially, kicking off this campaign with over 700 large format retail stores such as Sangeetha, Poorvika, Lot Mobile, BigC and more than 1500 offline mom n pop stores across Delhi, Jaipur and Chandigarh. However, given their online reputation, we’re quite sure these stocks won’t be lasting for long. They will be competing largely with retail sovereigns, Vivo and Oppo who have been aggressively investing in the industry to bolster their sales. Furthermore, the company stated all the upcoming Xiaomi phones will be accessible in offline stores.
Incidentally, the Redmi Note 4 has managed to cross the 1 Million mark in merely a time span of 45 days which is indeed, commendable. In terms of specifications, it features a 5.5-inch Full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, 4100mAh battery, LTE+VoLTE support, and more. Xiaomi, as of now, hasn’t revealed which variant they’ll be putting up for sale. You can further about the device here.
Commenting on the announcement, Mr Vipin Raina, Head – Offline Sales, Xiaomi India said, “We spent 2016 building strong operations in our offline distribution and paving the way to bring innovation in our offline model. We started this with our direct to the retail model, and with the introduction of pre-order, we are extending our innovation to everyone.“
