Smartron entered Indian market as a premier IoT brand and had announced t.phone smartphone and t.book laptop. The company has now roped in Dr. Sanjay Jha on the board of directors with immediate effect. Dr. Sanjay Jha has been ranked as one of the top technology leaders in the U.S and Smartron is expected to use his mentorship and strategic advice in order to strengthen the company.

Dr. Sanjay Jha is currently serving as the CEO of GlobalFoundries, the second largest semiconductor manufacturing company worldwide. He has also earlier served as the CEO and Chairman of Motorola Mobility and Chief Operating Officer at Qualcomm. Smartron has been promising that the next generation of smart IoT devices, platforms, and services from Smartron will be built on the premise of Internet of Tron (IoT) which focuses on providing an equalized user experience disregard of whether the user is in car, house, office or any other public place. For this very reason, Smartron has introduced a new feature called “Hubtron” which will be baked into all of its devices and will allow the users to access their contents including profile data, documents and other files via the Hub across its devices.

Smartron is lead by founder chairman Mahesh Lingareddy and is backed by legendary Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar. The company has already exhibited its drone and had launched the t.phone. However, the company is yet to launch its successor for the t.phone. The company had also announced t.book, a 12.2-inch ultrabook that comes powered by Intel M. Smartron has also bundled unlimited storage with t.cloud with all of its products.
