Stellantis is preparing to launch a brand-new inline six-cylinder Engine on the market, and has made an in Jeep’s US website.

Mopar Insiders announces the brand new dual-turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that is internally known as GME-T6 – abbreviation for Global Medium Engine – was briefly on display on the Grand Wagoneer’s configurator.

The outlet has heard from sources that the GME-6 will first be offered in high-output versions along with plug-in and standard-output hybrid versions to come in 2024.

Based on the Grand Wagoneer configurator, which was updated in the past to eliminate the engine, it’s an upgrade of US$2000 instead of the standard 351kW/616Nm naturally aspirated 6.4-Litre V8.

The model is expected to come with ZF’s eight-speed torque converter automated transmission, and will produce between 298kW and the power of 316kW.

The output version that is standard could end up in the less expensive Wagoneer The plug-in hybrid might offer an overall system output of 391 kW.

Beyond these large, Ram 1500-derived SUVs, there are a lot of other vehicles that the GME-T6 is a good fit and it being the Ram 1500 being an obvious selection.

Mopar Insiders anticipates that the engine will be added for in the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the next-generation Dodge Challenger and Charger line-ups.

The production of the twin-turbo six engine is in progress on the Stellantis’ Saltillo Engine Plant in Mexico It is currently building Hemi V8s. the brand’s chief of staff has hinted at a unveiling scheduled for the New York motor show.

It first offered it’s atmo 4.0-litre inline-six, a modification of an older American Motors Corporation (AMC) engine, which was fitted to the Jeep Wrangler in the year 2006.

Stellantis is planning to launch an all-new line of internal combustion engines, but the company is also expanding its efforts into the world of electric vehicles.

The company is preparing to launch the STLA Frame range of vehicles that span 4 “BEV-centric” architectures: STLA Small, STLA Medium, STLA Large and STLA Frame.

STLA Large will underpin, among a host of other automobiles, a brand new electric muscle car under the Dodge brand, which will act as a new halo during the post-Hellcat age. It’s due in 2024.

Vehicles built on the same architecture will feature 800V or 400V technology as well as batteries that range from 101 to 118 kWh.

They’ll have up to 800 km of range and come with both double-motor and single-motor electric powertrains, with electric motors producing between 150-330kW of power.
