Drivers Have Come Up With A New Way To Deal With Traffic Cameras: And All According To The Law

Some time ago, UMMC-Telecom won a tender for the installation of Traffic Cameras on the roads of the Sverdlovsk region. The company’s employees have already started assembling the “tripods”, while the first means of fixing traffic violations “Cordon-M” appeared on the streets of Nizhniy Tagil.

So far, mobile traffic cameras have been installed here only in the area of intersection of the Chernoistochinsky highway and Kommuna street, but for motorists the appearance of “tripods” on city roads was a complete surprise.

Many motorists are extremely unhappy with the location of the cameras. They argue that it is very difficult to comply with the speed limit on Chernoistochinskoe highway, and the operators installed “tripods” there only to profit from the fines. However, the most inventive drivers have already found a way to deal with the mobile cameras installed here, while not going beyond the law.

In the past few days, a constant congestion of cars can be observed at one of the local photo and video recording complexes. Motorists deliberately stop near the “tripod” and ostentatiously open the hoods of their vehicles, thereby blocking the road camera’s view.

The administrator of the public “Location of the traffic police in Nizhny Tagil” Vladimir Shestoperov supports the unusual protest action, noting that the cameras on the Chernoistochinskoe highway are installed incorrectly. According to him, at the sight of a tripod, the first thing the driver will try to slow down, distracting himself from the road and thereby provoking a potentially dangerous situation.

Motorists from Nizhny Tagil promise to stand their ground and block cameras at the site until they disappear from the streets of the city. Meanwhile, the company “UMMC-Telecom” said that the installation sites of the complexes were chosen correctly and agreed directly with the traffic police of the Sverdlovsk region.

A press release issued by the contractor says the tripods are correctly positioned on potentially hazardous road sections, and the law does not require any warning signs to be installed in front of them.

According to representatives of the company, the operators involved in the work undergo training, internships and even pass exams, and they receive a fixed salary, that is, it does not matter to them how many people are fined by the “tripod” allocated to them, that is, they have no personal interest.
