In mid-November, AvtoVAZ officially announced a new Lada Vesta Cvt equipped with a variator from the Japanese company Jatco. Moreover, this transmission has become available for the entire family, including the sedan and station wagon, as well as their all-terrain Cross-versions. Sales will begin before the end of the month.

The company itself calls the continuously variable variator for the Lada Vesta Cvt an automatic transmission, while it was decided to abandon the version with the AMT robot – such machines were in too low demand. True, the robot will still continue to offer grants.

Recall that initially the variator appeared on the Lada XRAY Cross, and it is available only with an imported 1.6-liter Renault H4M gasoline engine (also known as Nissan HR16) with a capacity of 113 hp. and 152 Nm of torque. A similar situation is with Vesta, so that other motors from the line are now combined exclusively with manual transmissions.

It is reported that the Lada Vesta CVT sedan accelerates from zero to hundreds in 12.2 seconds, and its top speed reaches 170 km / h. Fuel consumption, and the engine is adapted for AI-92 gasoline, is indicated only in the combined cycle – 7.1 l / 100 km. The characteristics for the “variator” station wagon and Cross versions have not yet been specified.

Compared to mechanically driven cars, for the new Vesta CVT with an automatic transmission, engineers had to modernize the power unit mountings and change the engine calibrations, plus the model was equipped with different wheel drives and an original exhaust system. In addition, disc brakes are already installed on the rear axle in the base.

And it was on Vesta with a variator that some improvements appeared, which will be transferred to all other versions of the model. For example, the car has got frameless wiper blades and deeper cupholders, and the expensive versions boast a heated steering wheel, fog lights with cornering lights, an antenna-fin on the roof and electric folding mirrors, and you can activate the function with a key.

The price of Lada Vesta CVT in the sedan body starts from 736,900 rubles, i.e. for 50,000 rubles. more expensive than the 106-strong version 1.6 with a manual transmission. This is the entry-level Classic with the Start Plus package. The most expensive version of the Exclusive (this first became available for the Vesta SW station wagon) will cost 924,900 rubles.
