In the US market, the Nissan Sentra sedan is in high demand, so it is not surprising that the Japanese decided to present the new generation of the model in the States, choosing the November 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show as the premiere site.

The new body of the 2020 Nissan Sentra is not a full-fledged novelty and is an American version of the Nissan Sylphy 4 model, which made its debut at the Shanghai exhibition two thousand nineteen. From the latter, he received a similar appearance with a V-shaped radiator grille and narrow head optics closely adjacent to it (in the top versions – LED).

The new Sentra sports a two-tone paint job with a black roof and features striking embossing on the side, emphasizing the lean look of the four-door. Of the features of the stern, it is worth noting the angular bumper and stylish two-section lights. The model can also be ordered in the SR version – this version is delivered on 18-inch wheels, and also has black decor, door sills and a spoiler on the trunk lid.

Inside the car, a steering wheel with a rim truncated in a sporty way, stylish “turbines” of ventilation deflectors and a massive central tunnel on which the engine start button is located, are striking. Interestingly, the headrests on the second row are integral with the backrest, meaning they cannot be removed or adjusted. Plus, the Japanese are reporting on improving the noise insulation of the interior.

The initial versions have an analog device with a 4.2-inch on-board computer screen and a 7.0-inch multimedia system touchscreen. More expensive versions rely on a seven-inch screen in the dashboard and an eight-inch multimedia monitor with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The overall length of the 2020 Nissan Sentra has remained virtually unchanged (4.6 meters), but the sedan has become 52 mm wider (up to 1,815 mm) and 56 mm lower (1,450 mm). The wheelbase has grown to 2,712 millimeters (+ 12). The track is 52 mm wider and the center of gravity is lower. The independent rear suspension instead of the previous “beam” is also called to contribute to a more driver-like character.

As for the power unit, the American Nissan Sentra 2020 has a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine with 151 hp, working in tandem with the uncontested Xtronic CVT. However, in the future, a turbo version should also become available for the model, but there is no information about it yet.

Responsible for safety is the Safety Shield 360 complex, which sedans are equipped with already in the base, while drivers can order adaptive cruise control and all-round cameras for a surcharge. The start of sales of the eighth generation Nissan Sentra B18 in the States is scheduled for January of the twentieth year, there is no information on the price, and deliveries to Russia are not planned.
