You’re probably already familiar with Springfield Armory’s M1A Series of rifles, the .308 WIN-chambered civilian version of the M14. It is, after all, a firearm with a prestigious reputation. These rifles have dominated the National Matches at Camp Perry and are favorites among both big game hunters and elite tactical teams.
And now consumers can get these impressive rifles chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor caliber.
The 6.5 Creedmoor round is quickly establishing its own excellent reputation. These rounds are incredibly precise, even at long distances, able to reach 1,000 yards with less than three inches of drop. On top of this, they are specifically – and successfully – designed to minimize recoil.
The M1A rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor caliber optimizes these capabilities for virtually unparalled accuracy and performance.
The rifle features a 22 inch stainless steel National Match Grade barrel with a long sight radius and incredibly accurate iron sights. The barrel boasts a shot-steadying muzzle brake and 4-groove 1:8 right hand twist for outstanding precision.
The M1A’s two-stage trigger is National Match tuned to 4.5-5 pounds.
The M1A also boasts a National Match Grade .062 post front sight and National Match Grade non-hooded .0520 aperture rear sight, adjustable for ½ MOA windage and 1 MOA elevation.
The ten round magazine feeds smoothly into the rifle’s chamber.
All of these features combine to create a reliable long range rifle with excellent precision and accuracy, but for even better accuracy, the Springfield Armory M1A can be paired with a Springfield Armory scope mount and the optic of your choice.
The M1A 6.5 Creedmoor is also extraordinarily well-balanced, with a length of 45 to 46.24 inches, depending on the configuration, and weighs in at 11.4 pounds when unloaded.
The new M1A 6.5 Creedmoor is available in three different configurations. Choose between a solid black composite stock or a precision-adjustable stock, available in black or a khaki brown that Springfield Armory calls Flat Dark Earth.
And good news for residents of California: The M1A 6.5 Creedmoor with the black composite stock is California-approved, with a California legal muzzle break.
