Fowler Cards Quintuple Bogey on 18!

If you were three under par through 17 holes, you fancy yourself to sign for a round in the sixties. A top-level golfer may even push for one more birdie.

What Rickie Fowler did not expect was to be writing 72 at the end of his Saturday round after carding a quintuple bogey 9 on the par 4 18th hole. After only one bogey all day and 4 birdies – it took Fowler two penalty drops and nine strokes to complete his final hole – transforming a stellar 67 to a meager 72. The 9 sent him tumbling down the leader board after a good start at the FedEx St. Jude.

Since being rumored to have signed with LIV, Fowler is still fighting on the PGA Tour – trying to find a glimpse of his past best and play some decent golf. It has been a rollercoaster ride of late for Rickie.

After making the Top 125 to qualify for these playoffs right on the number, Fowler then parted ways with his caddy of over 14 years, and Rickie opened with a 65 on Thursday with his new man on the bag.

His finish to today’s round will leave a sour taste and gives us amateur golfers another opportunity to relate to the pros!
