LIV Players Denied Temporary Restraining Order, Out Of FedEx Cup Playoffs

Round 1 of the legal proceedings between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour has concluded, with Judge Freeman issuing a ruling that the three LIV Golfers will not be able to play in the PGA Tour Fedex Cup Playoffs.

Matt Jones, Hudson Swafford, and Talor Gooch remain exempt from the play-offs. Their request for a temporary restraining order (TRO) has been denied.

Elsewhere in the whirlwind of golf and jurisprudence, Carlos Ortiz has withdrawn his name from the lawsuit filed by LIV Golfers, reducing the list of names down to 10. His agent said he has moved on from the legal endeavor.

The LIV trio has lost the initial court case, but it does not seem that these legal battles will be over quickly!
