This Sunday: Cole Hetzel & Company will attempt to Break Guinness World Record of 1,440 Mini Golf Holes

This Sunday, July 31st, Cole Hetzel, a college student, will attempt to play 80 rounds of mini Golf in a single day with his Dad and two others. Cole has a history of breaking records as he and his Dad did a 30-hour-long Wiffle ball marathon. Hetzels are conditioned for this and also doing it for a great cause.

Current Record

The current record stands since 2005, at an indoor mini golf course in Germany, totaling a staggering 1,440 holes, which equals a total of 80 rounds. All this was done in 24 hours, exactly what the new record-seekers will attempt, but to crush it and also raise money for charity.

Analysis

In an ideal world, the foursome, including Cole Hetzel, Cole’s Father, Bob Schoettinger, and Tony Centers, will need to average 3.4 rounds per hour for 24 hours. This would bring them to 81.6 rounds of mini golf played. If this was the case, they would “safely” beat the record by more than 27 holes. Hetzel and company are prepared and will need to strategically manage their bathroom, food, and water breaks to pull this record off successfully.

For a Good Cause

The Netzels will have proceeds go to a charity named “Matthew 25,” which provides humanitarian aid and also disaster relief around the globe. If someone would like to support the effort, they can go to the website and type the word “PUTT” in the special purpose field.

Where to Watch

Currently, the only place to watch is in person at Putt-Putt Golf & Games Fun Center in Erlanger, Kentucky, this Sunday, July 31st starting at 8:00 am and ending on August 1st at 8:00 am. Be sure to check out puttputt.com to see event details. There will be vendors and DJ’s throughout the day. Mini golf history could very well be made come Monday morning.
