Hideki Matsuyama became the first player from Japan to win a major championship after slipping on the green jacket yesterday evening.
For the sport, for his country, Hideki delivered one of the most impactful victories the game of golf has seen in recent memory. The amount of kids that watched him win, that now know it’s possible to play on that stage is astronomical.
The respect that Japanese culture has for people and places is something we rarely see state side. We often take these golf courses for granted, unlike Matsuyama’s caddie, Shota Hayafuji, who paid the ultimate respect before walking off the 18th green.

It was a goosebump moment. A small moment in time when you remember how important this was for the Matsuyama team.
One of the coolest images in the history of golf.
