BREAKING: What Did Tiger Text Caddie Joe LaCava After Masters?

According to a recent report, Tiger Woods’ loyal Caddie Joe Lacava received over 650 text messages after the Masters win.  Of the many, there was one that resonated the most.

Before the text, Joe highlighted the aftermath on Sunday at Augusta by saying,

“We just kind of looked at each other and soaked it all in…It was still only seven minutes since he putted out and it’s hard to take it all in at that point, but we just took a deep breath. Nothing was really said.”

The Connecticut native who spent 20 years on the bag for Freddie Couples, shared what his boss Tiger sent him via text. Tiger wrote,

“We did it, appreciate you hanging in there with me, I love you like a brother.”

Joe said in the report that he sent a similar text back to him, probably praising him and proclaiming his brotherly love.  “And I sent one back very similar to that. Hopefully we’ll have a nice sit-down dinner and rehash everything at the next tournament and not necessarily celebrate it, but enjoy it and reminisce a little bit.”

That kind of says it all, right?  This is the first major Joe has won with Tiger after hanging in and turning down job offers while Tiger was shelved with scandals and injuries.  In fact, Joe won a green jacket with Couples 27 years ago and was asked about the difference between this win and Freddie’s win.

Caddie Network reported Joe saying,

“It’s the same score. Raymond [Floyd] was at 11 in the house, so it was a little easier. Fred made a par, so he had a two-stroke lead, just like Tiger did. You still have to finish it off. It was a little tougher with Fred, knowing that pin was in the back. Plus he was in a bunker. I knew Fred’s ball was a little to the right, it’s not that easy of a shot.”
