The Ruger 10/22 SR-22 Project

Happy Ruger Day Everyone!

Here is a quick project I put together after I found a screaming deal on a Ruger SR-22 Chassis kit. Below is what I bought for $60, it was not 100% perfect, but in pretty damn good shape for the money.

I decided to fit my first 10/22 (2008 vintage) into this chassis. While I was happy with the ATI stock, I much preferred the aluminum SR-22 stock (made by Nordic Components).

I also swapped out the factory extended mag release for this longer extended one I had in my parts bin

I also swapped the bolt for one that I had polished the internals and  blued

I used this JWH parkerized charging handle that I had in my parts bin

I reinstalled everything in the new chassis, including the scope and universal bayonet lug....

All done:

Specs:
Receiver & Barrel: 2008 factory receiver; factory take-off 16" Barrel, threaded
Frame/Chassis: Factory Ruger SR-22
Trigger Assembly: Trigger & Action job performed, unkown aftermarket mag release and JWH charging handle
Scope: Tasco 3-9x40 lighted reticle
VFG: Knights Armament

On to the next project!
