Happy Friday!

This is a little bit of a weird one: GracieMag apparently put out what they thought were “famous” quotes by jiu jitsu practitioners. I thought it would be some of the more famous ones, like “a black belt is a white belt who never quit,” or the thing about one about being a shark and most people don’t know how to swim (you know, that one). Or maybe these are just well known quotes to me, because GracieMag pulled out some quotes that I have never heard before. Admittedly, I kind of live under a rock, but some of the quotes are just kind of odd.

I guess it’s better than when Metamoris decided to credit a quote to Jeff Glover on Instagram, I guess thinking that it was some original, inspirational quote and not realizing that he was in fact quoting lyrics from “Pass the Courvoisier (Part 2)” by Busta Rhymes. The quote was “don’t talk about it, be about it”, in case anyone was wondering.
