After a rather lengthy delay, Chelsea finally confirmed the Signing of Gonzalo Higuain on a unique loan deal from Juventus via AC Milan.
Higuain was officially announced as The Blues’ new signing late on Thursday, with Bianconeri revealing details about the loan agreement.
The Argentinian is being loaned to Maurizio Sarri’s side until the end of season in which they can activate a further extension until 2020 for 18 million euro or purchasing his full outright for 36 million.
The former Napoli star reunites himself with Sarri as they are hoping that they can replicate the successful collaboration during their time at San Paolo.
Higuain stated in his press conference that joining the Blues is an opportunity that he couldn’t miss out on, noting that he always wanted to play in the Premier League.
Moreover, the attacker indicates that working with Sarri again is something that ultimately triggers his decision in accepting Chelsea’s offer.
“Sarri is the coach who, in my career, has got the best out of me as a player. He’s someone who knew how to work with me, particularly one the emotional side,” Higuain explained.
Now the Argentinian must prove that he can really get back to his best again, just like that excellent time at Napoli under Sarri’s guidance.
