Congratulations to the Stromness Legion who last night beat rivals the Stones in the final of the Orkney Team Cup. The current top two teams in the Orkney Pool League played out yet another extremely close match with both teams having to work extremely hard for every point.
In a back and forth tussle the Stones led 2-1 after the doubles but 2 Singles Wins put the Stromness team ahead at 3-2. The Stones replied with 2 singles wins of their own to go 4-3 up and 1 point from victory but it was the Legion boys who had a late surge and claimed the victory by the narrowest of margins with a 5-4 win.
