Sanjay Leela Bhansali is having real trouble working on his upcoming movie Padmavati. There was an incident a few months ago when Bhansali was assaulted by the Rajput community. The movie has been in the news since the day it has been announced. From the star cast to the story, everything was on point.
Another incident took place at around 2 am at the Masai Pathar near Kohlapur. Unidentified locals from Kohlapur set fire to the set of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming movie ‘Padmavati’.
The movie was being shot at Masai Pathar at 2 am and the set of the movie was set on fire. Police reached the spot early in the morning on March 15 with fire engines and the fire was brought under control. According to the reports, there was a group of 30-50 people who attacked the set with torches and Petrol Bombs. The damage was heavy.
The search to get the culprits is still on. The movie is starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, had run into controversy in January at Rajasthan. Members of Karni Sena from Rajasthan had attacked director Bhansali while shooting there. They are accusing Bhansali of portraying the Queen Padmavati in a bad light.
Details about people behind the attack are yet to emerge. Earlier, Bhansali had tried to call a truce with Rajput organisations and told them there will be no love scene between Deepika and Ranveer’s characters. The letter said…
As discussed with you, this is to specifically clarify that there is no romantic dream sequence or any objectionable / romantic scene between Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji. We have been carefully researching and making the film. We are confident that Mewar will be proud of the film made on their revered queen. We do not want to hurt any sentiments and would appreciate if all the social organisations and local people support us in making this film and making their queen revered by the world. Request you to please ensure that moving forward there is no untoward action against our production, crew and cast in lieu of the said issue from members of your association and other Rajput associations. We look forward for your co-operation. — Bhansali productions Private Limited
