Then again women have proved that they are no less than any man. They have risen up in the patriarchal society and left their remarks. We have many examples, our first female Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, first female President Pratibha Patil, first governor of India Madam Sarojini Naidu. These are few examples, we are living in the country where a female figure is worshiped but still we cannot get over the fact that women are no less than men.

First female IPS officer who is an inspiration to several women in the country. She is currently a politician, representing BJP.
2. Kalpana Chawla
The first female Indian astronaut who traveled miles outside the earth and made our country proud.
3. Puneeta Arora
She will sound like the queen of ‘Firsts’. She is the first woman who has achieved the second highest rank of Lt. General in the Indian Army. She was also the first to become Vice Admiral of Indian Navy in 2005 and the first one to control AFMC (Armed Force Medical College) in 2004.
4. Meenakshi Vijayakumar
First woman to join the Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services as a divisional fire officer. Also, she is the first woman to become a fire safety officer.
5. Durba Banerjee
Durba Banerjee was the first Indian woman commercial pilot. And also the first pilot of Indian Airlines in 1956.
6. Sarla Thakral
She was the first Indian woman to fly an aircraft at the age of 21. She got her aviation pilot license in 1936 and flew a Gypsy Moth by herself.
7. Surekha Yadav
Surekha Yadav was the first female train driver of Indian Railways in 1988.
8. Vasantha Kumari
Vasantha Kumari is a bus driver, she has been driving since 1993. She is not only the first female bus driver in India, but she is the first one in Asia.
9. Yogita Raghuvanshi
She is the first truck driver on national permit and India’s most academically qualified woman truck driver. She holds a degree in LLB and belongs to become a truck driver.
10. Radhika Menon
Radhika Menon is the first lady to become the Captain of Indian Merchant Navy in 2011. She is the first woman who was nominated for Exceptional Bravery at Sea by International Maritime Organization for extraordinary courage in saving the lives of seven fishermen.
11. Bhawana Kanth, Avani Chaturvedi and Mohana Singh
They have taken charge in the Indian Air Force on June 18, 2016. These three ladies have completed their level of training which is about 150 hours of flying. They will undergo a six months training on Advanced Jet Fighters.
