The Evolution of Technology: Where Do We Go from Here?

Consumers are now overwhelmed with choices and the amounts of data available to us on a day to day basis. We are inundated with modern amenities like refrigeration, automatic cars, and synthetic fabrics. Yet we still strive to use the least possible amount of Energy possible. What does this mean for our daily lives and for the future of technology? Let’s take a look at the current state of technology and where we can go from here.

Car Engine size has not increased much in the last century. The average US car engine is 5.4 L. This is what the laws of physics require. In the early 1900s, the average engine size was 2.7 L. Why did it change? Because the human population was much smaller. Today, a car only uses 4.5 gallons per 100 miles. This amount of fuel consumption is equivalent to a tank of gas in the early 1900s.

In 1940, the average US car weighed in at 3,005 pounds. These vehicles weighed less than what they do today. How did this happen? Technology and the infrastructure behind the automotive revolution. After WWII, there was a massive demand for cars and we had to improve the infrastructure. Bridges were built, highways were constructed, and aluminum, magnesium and steel were invented. These are all ways that we can reduce the weight of automobiles. If we were to switch to a heavy weight engine, we would be creating more damage to the environment.

Air pollution is something that we have to deal with today. The average car uses about 5.5 gallons of oil each year. We have to take this number into account when we design new cars. An engine can only run as efficiently as the fuel it is given to work with.

The amount of energy we have to produce the food that we eat is another issue that we are dealing with. In the 1800s, about 1 pound of energy was needed to produce an average meal. Today, the USDA puts the figure at 8.76 pounds of energy per meal. The reason that this number is higher than the 1800s is because of the advances in engineering. We are able to bring more people together and feed more people in a single location.

What can we do to reduce our energy usage in the future? High efficiency engines will help us in the long run. If we can replace our large engines with smaller, more efficient engines, we can save a lot of energy. The engine in your car has a lot of power but it is not the most efficient way to convert the energy in to power. If you’ve more details visit here zumroad.com/tech

Efficiency is an important quality in the next generation of technology. If we can come up with a more efficient way to power cars, we will be able to save a lot of energy. The use of solar panels will be another way to decrease the amount of energy needed to power our vehicles. Other technologies such as fuel cells and biofuels will be able to help us to decrease the need for fossil fuels.
