The Cockroach up the Drain

The Cockroach Up The Drain

It must have felt very sad when I washed it down once again, through the same path it had just advanced.

Quite an exercise it might have been for it. Climbing 10 feet up the Drain. Must have drained its energy out.

But, it didn’t give up. It accomplished its goal. In that sense, it is a way more successful Creature than I can ever be.

Throwing the water above its exoskeleton felt a little cruel to me. It hurt my heart a little. To cancel the progress of a little creature, it takes a more bruised and battered heart than what I possess.

But, that Cockroach still didn’t give up. It rose again. Higher. The few feet it had fallen simply emboldened its thirst for success. Sensing with antennae, thrashing with legs, it succeeded yet again.

And then it started to fly.

And that was the end of my peaceful observations.

Cockroaches are fine as long as they are grounded. But when they take off, well doesn’t really matter, I had to run away from ground zero.

Still it seems to me like, the roach is somewhere nearby, but my respect for it has definitely flushed. From today onwards, I pledge, I shall never praise these roaches. They look innocent. But their flight is embroidered with malice. And that’s why, I pledge harder,

I shall never praise them goddamn cockroaches.
