LOS GATOS, Calif. – Looking to further cater to the growing number of users who “binge watch” TV shows, Netflix has announced a new feature which will allow viewers to skip straight to the end of the program they are watching.

The new feature comes after Netflix has seen a mostly positive reaction to the “Skip Intro” feature, which allows viewers to easily skip over the opening credits of a show. Seeing this as further confirmation of the trend of viewers blowing through storylines as quickly as possible, the streaming service is betting that a “Skip to the End” feature will be a huge hit.

“The way people consume media has changed,” said Netflix CEO Reed Hastings. “They don’t want to have to wait to get to the next episode to find out what happens, or sit though scenes of boring dialogue. They want to tweet about who lives and dies, who ends up with who, who committed the murder. So now you just press this button and you are ready to talk about it on social media.”

Early buzz has been positive for “Skip to the End,” with many avid streamers welcoming the function as a way to help get through the backlog of shows on their queue.

“I always worry about how I will find the time to watch everything being put out,” Netflix subscriber Janice Meyer explained. “This will help me move through shows a lot faster. Better to get through them all than enjoy just a few, you know?”

In response to the announcement, Amazon plans to unveil a feature for Prime members where employees will come into your home and tell you how a show ends as soon as you begin streaming it.
