Recently mum has become obsessed with food. There isn’t one nice thing left to eat in our house. If it has an ingredient list longer than two items it’s been banned. Everything is organic, unprocessed, no sugar, no salt, no additives….blah, blah, blah. In a word ‘boring’. Even the sliced Cheese has gone. I can’t imagine would could be wrong with cheese? Cheese is just cheese right? Apparently not.
Anyway, the sliced cheddar that I loved so dearly (because it appealed to my sense of laziness and was the easiest way to make lunch) is on the banned list. It’s been replaced with grass fed organic New Zealand cheddar…in a big fat block…hard to for me to cut, slice, chop and all of the above.
So when it came time to make this week’s school lunches I did what I do best….really annoy mum. I used the whole block. It gave new meaning to the word ‘slice’. I told her it was a great way to increase my protein intake…she’s all about that.
