Mr. Singh caught a teenager stealing from his store. His response has gone viral for all the right reasons.

Most of us have a knee-jerk reaction where reference is learn a crime taking place: call the cops.

It’s often the smart move to protect the safety of those in the immediate domain, but sometimes it’s unnecessary. Specially when the result of the being arrested might far outweigh the seriousness of the crime.

A 7-11 owned in Toledo, Ohio is being praised for not announcing the officers on a adolescent that he caught stealing from his storage. Instead, he saw the violation as an opportunity to practice kindness.

Jay Singh was notified to a teen embezzling by a clerk, so he went to look at its own security footage to justify. He then approached the teen at the checkout counter and asked about , “Do you want me to call the cops or will you take it out? ”

The teenager removed the plagiarized items from his pockets and Singh asked about why he embezzled. “He said,’ I’m embezzling for myself. I’m thirsty, and I’m doing it for my younger friend, ’” Singh recalled.

The store owner then held the teen a bag full of pizza and sandwiches, free of charge, and transmitted him on his way.

Customer Cedric Bishop watched Sing’s generosity and kindness and posted about it on Facebook and the pole promptly started viral.

Singh’s generosity is a reminder that often violations are dedicated out of anguish , not malice. It’s too a soothing reminder that we can solve problems one-on-one without having to enter the government or subject the perpetrator to a heartless justice system.

“It’s not going to make any difference to me if I give him some meat because we make a lot of menu, we exchange a lot of menu, ” said Singh. “If he goes to jail then he’s unquestionably not going to do anything good in life.”
