You Can Bet On Tom Brady Getting Elected President In 2020, If You Really Want To

It’s October 2020. Donald Trump is getting ready for the final debate of his presidency, either because he is going to get re-elected and term limited or he’s going to lose on Election Day the following month. He looks across the stage and stares deeply into the eyes of his opponent: Tom Brady. The debate occurs, time passes, and on Election Day 2020, Brady becomes the next President of the United States.

If you bet $100 on this happening today, congratulations, you just made more than $12,000. Bovada released Odds for a number of people which illustrate the likelihood that they will become the next leader of the free world. Here are the relevant names for sports fans, according to Sports Illustrated.

  • Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, 60/1
  • Actor and like a million other things Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, 66/1
  • Brady, 125/1
  • WWE chairman Vince McMahon, 500/1

There are plenty of other names on here that are far more likely – the favorites are Trump (9/4), Massachusetts senator Elizabeth Warren (15/2), Vice President Mike Pence (9/1), and former First Lady Michelle Obama (15/1). Beyond that, you have to get through 19 more people before Cuban pops up, and even then, he’s tied with Ohio governor John Kasich and former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney at 60/1.

But somehow, none of these people have the worst odds available based on the names SI provided – that would go to former meme Ken Bone at 1,000/1. As for some notables, Cuban and Johnson have better odds than former Florida governor Jeb Bush (80/1), Brady’s odds are as good as Chelsea Clinton and Kanye West, and McMahon’s odds are slightly better than those belonging to Kim Kardashian (550/1).

This is largely all in jest, but Bovada needs to give some more love to McMahon. Sure, he lost a hair vs. hair match against Trump at WrestleMania 23, and nominating someone who has lost to Trump in the past would probably not be good for marketing purposes. But if I were a betting man who frequently made bad decisions, I could almost be talked into 500/1 for McMahon being a good idea, even if deep down I know he has – and I am very sorry about this, but you knew this joke was coming – no chance in hell.

Still, 125/1 for Brady seems a bit high, especially considering he has the same odds as a sitting U.S. Senator (Connecticut’s Chris Murphy). Anything could happen, but it is reasonable to count out Touchdown Tom’s odds of getting elected in 2020. Also, I cannot fathom that anyone outside of New England or Ann Arbor, Michigan would willingly vote for him, which seems kind of important if you want to be president.
