The Nets Reveal Sleek New Alternate ‘Remix’ Uniforms That Honor The Organization’s Past

For their opening-night game against the Indiana Pacers on October 26, the Brooklyn Nets will wear their new “Brooklyn Remix” Uniforms — a design that pays homage to the mid-to-late 80s New Jersey Nets.

The new design, which was unveiled on September 14, features the team name written across the chest with “Brooklyn” written down the side. Also on the left side are five stars (three on the uniform and two on the shorts) that run parallel to Brooklyn and represent the five years that the team has spent in the city.

The graphite color is a blend of the black and white of the team’s regular uniforms and are said to represent the “grit and tenacity of Brooklyn and its passionate young team,” according to the team website.

The 80s New Jersey Nets uniforms wore red, white and blue with a similar city and star design down the left side of the uniform with “Nets” written across the chest.

“By combining elements from the team’s most iconic uniforms, we’ve created a modernized look that emphasizes our heritage and defines today’s lifestyle brand,” said Brett Yormark, CEO of Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment.

The “Brooklyn Remix” uniforms will be worn for four home games and eight road games during the 2016-17 season.
