Michael Jackson himself started showing an interest in Culkin. MJ was born in 1958, which would mean that he’s about 31 at this time. He and Macaulay were spending a lot of time together. Culkin was even featured in the music video for “Black and White.” Culkin, as is very obvious, is white. That fact is less pertinent than that he was also really young.

The years marched on, and Culkin continued to get more and more blockbusters under his belt. But his parents grew increasingly domineering and demanding. Culkin said of his father:
“My father was overbearing. Very controlling. He was always the way he is, even before my success. He’d play mind games to make sure I knew my place.”
Because they were in charge of his finances, Culkin’s parents used a lot of it to pay for their own purchases. It was pretty crazy.

His dad acted as his manager — one unrespected in industry circles — and his mother was just a pain. Dad was arrogant and a heavy boozer, and mom was overpowering. Eventually, Culkin finally took it upon himself to leave them behind, for his own safety. At age 14, Culkin petitioned to be emancipated from them. He took his fortune with him and booked.
