10 SCANDINAVIAN EASTER DECORATION IDEAS FOR YOUR HOME

I can’t believe it’s April and almost Easter already, where does the time go? I love decorating my home for the holidays, and Easter is such a lovely time full of joy and hope. This year in my own home I have kept it fairly minimal with a few little subtle decor elements, but I might add some more during the week. In the meantime, I have been browsing the web for some inspiration, which I thought I would share with you.

Here is a little guide of ways to decorate your home with a Scandinavian touch this Easter, going away from the more traditional style and instead focusing on creating a minimal and natural vibe!

1 // If you are having a family dinner or party with friends this Easter, why not decorate each plate with little, individual nests? I love this beautiful table setting by Stylizimo, very chic!

2 // In Scandinavia we always decorate our home with pussy willow branches or birch branches. They can either be decorated with feathers or eggs on, or simply put in a vase and displayed as is for a more minimal look. They are the perfect accessory to an all white table like this one from Medina Lind don’t you think?

3 // This is a little display I created in my own home, a modern nest! I used my two Danish design birds from Architectmade as well as one of the Kaleido tray by HAY. The eggs are recently bought from Flying Tiger, they have such a great range of Easter decor this year so it is worth a visit!

4 // As soon as I saw these cute DIY bunny napkins also by Stylizimo I knew I had to include them in my round-up, such a great way to decorate by using something you already have. Click through to find a link to a tutorial video if you also want to have a try.

5 // At Easter I love the idea of bringing more of nature inside, so what about decorating your eggs with moss instead of the traditional paint? I found this great tutorial from The Merrythought and thought the effect was beautiful. It adds a lovely pop of green in your home.

6 // For me, the gorgeous Unico pastel vases by Kähler oozes Easter, I have a yellow one myself and although I have it out all year long it comes to it’s right at springtime.

7 // But Easter doesn’t have to be about pastel, what do you think of this chic mix of concrete and black tones by Mielille via Instagram? I think it is very sophisticated and gives off a lovely dark Nordic mood.

8 // As I mentioned before, us Scandinavians love to decorate with branches at Easter, and these pretty ornaments made of folded paper are beautiful decorations to hang on a twig. They are handmade by Studio Äppel Päppel, a Swedish design duo.

9 // Easter is also about hygge, and I love the way Ma Maison Blanche has styled her String shelf with all white and wood elements. This minimal look is perfect for achieving the Scandinavian feeling at spring. Use your own shelf at home as your display area highlighting some of your favourite seasonal items.

10 // And for Easter morning, the egg cups from Design Letters are a great Scandinavian touch. Here styled by Hviit.

What do you think of these Scandinavian decor ideas, will you be trying any of these out this year? I hope you have a wonderful week and Easter celebration, ‘God Påske’ as we say in Norway!
